Vassar Brothers Medical Center (VBMC) is a 350‑bed facility serving the Mid‑Hudson Valley since 1887. The campus features a newly built Patient Pavilion with 294 private rooms, a 30‑room ICU, 13 surgical suites, and 66 exam and treatment rooms in the emergency and trauma center. VBMC is part of Nuvance Health and hosts the region’s first cardiothoracic surgery program and the only Level III neonatal intensive care unit.

Responsibilities

• Assist in directing and coordinating anesthesia department activities.
• Manage medical care of patients rendered unconscious during procedures.
• Conduct pre‑anesthesia assessment and obtain or verify patient consent.
• Discuss anesthetic options and risks with patients.
• Perform induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia.
• Monitor patients’ physiological status.
• Execute clinical interventions as needed.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical college.
• ECFMG and FLEX certification.
• Completion of an approved anesthesia residency.
• Active physician license.
