Job Overview
The NICU Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse performs roles utilizing a patient-centered care model, demonstrating competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation, coaching, research, and ethics. Collaborates with the healthcare team to assess, plan, and implement care for patients with health and safety needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical assessments, treatments, and clearances per regulatory standards.
- Perform clinical care professionally, advocating for patients and serving as a role model.
- Develop and implement care plans, facilitate patient education, and evaluate protocols for best practices.
- Administer medications safely, initiate tests and procedures, and collaborate with physicians and team members.
- Document findings accurately and participate in ongoing education and policy reviews.
- Serve as a resource for staff and patients, promote a collaborative environment, and seek clinical innovation.
- Address ethical issues and float to various locations as needed.
Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program with a Master's Degree.
- Active NJ RN license, APN certification, and BLS certification.
- Physician Assistant license if applicable, with BLS certification.
Preferred
- Advanced Practice Nurse with 3+ years of experience.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
