Newborn Hospitalist

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking BC/BE pediatricians to join their multispecialty neonatology practice as newborn hospitalists in the North Dallas area. This role involves providing comprehensive newborn services as part of a collaborative team, offering an engaging opportunity within a busy and diverse medical environment. Practice Info

• Busy, diverse, multispecialty neonatology practice in the North Dallas area
• Team includes in-house neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, developmental pediatricians, cardiologists, MFMs, and pediatric surgeons
• Provide Level-I to Level-II newborn care at Methodist Richardson Medical Center (average daily census 10-15 babies)
• Provide Level-I to Level-II newborn care at Texas Health Presbyterian Rockwall Medical Center (approximately 10 babies)
• Neonatologist assistance/backup is provided as needed and in all high-risk situations

Responsibilities

• Provide 10-hour, in-house coverage in the newborn nursery
• Be on call from home in the evening
• Admissions and management of infants in the newborn nursery
• Delivery attendance
• Transitional care
• Circumcisions and consultations with families
• Participate in education and quality improvement initiatives
