Neurosurgeon

Valley Baptist Physician Network is seeking a neurosurgeon to join Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. This is a unique opportunity to be the region's only neurosurgeon at a DNV Comprehensive Stroke Center and an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center. The role offers immediate, built-in volume and a fully integrated neuro team, providing significant clinical impact and financial upside.

Practice Info

• Solo neurosurgeon with a fully built-out neuro infrastructure including two endovascular neurologists, two neurohospitalists, outpatient neurology (general, epilepsy, stroke), and two physiatrists
• Operate within a 586-bed ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center
• Equipped with cutting-edge technology including Brainlab, AIRO, and da Vinci robotics
• State-of-the-art 14-bed Neuro ICU
• Clinic located in the professional building directly attached to Valley Baptist Medical Center - Harlingen
• EMR: Cerner

Responsibilities

• Approximately two clinic days per week, seeing 15-20 patients per day
• Perform surgery days as needed with block OR time available
• Participate in 10 days/month of paid primary call plus 10 backup call days

Compensation

• Competitive base salary plus production bonuses
• Paid call compensation at $2,800 per day

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
• Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited Neurosurgery residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
• Texas medical license or eligibility to obtain one
• J-1 or H-1B visa sponsorship available for non-cap exempt candidates
