Position Overview

The Mesulam Center for Cognitive Neurology & Alzheimer's Disease at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full‑time Neuropsychiatrist at the rank of Assistant Professor in the non‑tenure‑eligible Clinician Educator career track.

There are opportunities to join or initiate research programs in intervention trials, brain imaging, cognitive neuroscience, and neuropathology related to aging and dementia.

Northwestern Memorial Hospital (NMH) is an 894‑bed academic medical center and the primary teaching affiliate for the Feinberg School of Medicine. It employs nearly 1,900 physicians across virtually every medical specialty and is nationally recognized for exemplary patient care and innovative advances across many clinical areas, including neurology and neurosurgery, geriatrics, and women’s health.

The mission of the Mesulam Center is to conduct cutting‑edge research on neurodegenerative disorders that cause dementia, to better understand their biological mechanisms, identify novel therapeutic targets, and clarify the neural organization of behavior and cognition. The Center also provides personalized care addressing both symptoms and underlying disease for patients and families.

Qualifications

• MD or MD/PhD equivalent.
• Board certified or eligible in Psychiatry.
• Licensed to practice medicine in Illinois.
• Fellowship training in behavioral neurology and UCNS certification desirable.

The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until filled.
