The Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco seeks an outstanding candidate for a full-time clinical faculty position as a Neuropathologist. The appointment will be in the Clinical X or In Residence series at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, depending on level of experience and qualifications.
Position Description
Duties and responsibilities include clinical service obligations on the surgical neuropathology service and other subspecialty areas, such as molecular, autopsy, neuromuscular, and ophthalmic neuropathology, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and expertise. Faculty are also expected to participate in academic activities, including clinical and/or basic research (investigator-initiated or collaborative) and teaching of medical school students, residents, fellows, and non‑Pathology faculty colleagues.
Qualifications
- MD, MD/PhD, or an equivalent degree.
- Eligibility for a California medical license by the time of hire.
- Evidence of current or pending qualifications (e.g., board eligibility/certification, medical licensure) in the curriculum vitae.
Compensation
The salary and appointment rank will be commensurate with the applicant’s experience and training. The UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment, with a minimum base salary range of $121,900 – $405,900. The position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, offering eligibility for additional compensation.
