Reason for Coverage: Creating a pool of interventionists for emergency stroke coverage
Coverage Dates:
- September 28 at 8:00 a.m. - October 5, 2026 at 8:00 a.m.
- October 19 at 8:00 a.m. - October 26, 2026 at 8:00 a.m.
- November 2 at 8:00 a.m. - November 9, 2026 at 8:00 a.m.
- November 16 at 8:00 a.m. - November 23, 2026 at 8:00 a.m.
- November 23 at 8:00 a.m. - November 30, 2026 at 8:00 a.m.
Coverage & Setting:
- Level I Trauma setting
- Emergency stroke/interventional coverage
- Average ICU census: Approximately 2 patients per provider per day
- Average admissions: Approximately 1 per provider per day
- Provider must be able to perform catheter-based endovascular treatments for stroke
Required Procedures:
- Mechanical thrombectomy
- Coiling
- Diagnostic cerebral angiography
- Flow diversion
- Mechanical thrombectomy volume requirement: Minimum 15 procedures annually or 30 procedures within 2 years
Provider Background & Requirements:
- Seeking a Vascular Neurology/Neurointerventional provider
- Board Certified Neurology - Required for Neurology candidates
- Fellowship-trained Neurosurgery interventionists will also be considered
- Fellowship-trained Radiology interventionists will also be considered
- Provider must have appropriate interventional stroke training and be able to perform catheter-based endovascular treatments
- Active Nebraska license - Highly Preferred
- BLS - Required
- DEA - Required
- Moderate Sedation Training - Required
