Pediatric Neurologist – Movement Disorders

Position Overview

PSF is seeking a full‑time Pediatric Neurologist with expertise or strong interest in Movement Disorders to join the Neurology Division at Rady Children’s Health – Orange County.

  • Participate in a comprehensive pediatric movement disorders program, evaluating and managing patients requiring advanced therapies (DBS, intrathecal baclofen, selective dorsal rhizotomy, botulinum toxin injections).
  • Perform deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery, programming, and post‑surgical evaluations.
  • Develop and maintain a botulinum toxin injection program focused on spasticity, dystonia, and related neurologic conditions.
  • Collaborate with Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Genetics, Rehabilitation Services, and other subspecialists in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary movement disorders clinics and advanced surgical treatment programs.
  • Support development and expansion of specialized movement disorder pathways and research initiatives.

Research & Academic Opportunities

Collaborate with UC Irvine on a funded interdisciplinary pediatric movement disorders research program.

  • Invasive neurophysiology, brain‑computer interface research, closed‑loop DBS technology, AI and advanced data analytics, DBS outcomes research, clinical trials, genetic therapies, medication outcomes studies, translational neuroscience initiatives, multidisciplinary collaborative pediatric movement disorders research.
  • Teaching opportunities: resident and medical student education, divisional conferences, and broader academic programming.

Candidate Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree
  • Current California Medical License or eligibility for licensure
  • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Neurology
  • Current DEA registration
  • Movement Disorders expertise or strong clinical interest preferred
  • Experience with multidisciplinary pediatric neuroscience care preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to family‑centered pediatric care, teaching, and clinical excellence
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, referring physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals

Salary Range

$216,300 – $281,190
