Sanford Health, one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the US, is seeking a BC/BE Neurologist to join their growing team in Sioux Falls. This role offers the opportunity to practice general neurology with options for subspecialty focus, working in an outpatient setting. The position also includes an academic appointment at USD School of Medicine and Health Sciences, fostering collaboration and teaching opportunities.

Practice Info

  • Join a group of 12 neurologists with a focus on general neurology and various specialty interests.
  • Outpatient practice only, as the Sanford Neurology group has two dedicated neuro-hospitalists and two stroke specialists who provide inpatient hospital coverage.
  • Opportunity to obtain an academic appointment at USD School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with basic scientists and to educate medical students and residents.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physical examination.
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
  • Provide consultative services.
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to patients of all ages presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the neurologic system.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of a Neurology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training.
