Neurologist

Sanford Health, one of the largest not-for-profit health systems in the US, is seeking BC/BE neurologists to join their growing team in Fargo, ND. This role offers the opportunity to practice in various subspecialties within a Level I Trauma Center and Joint Commission Accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center. Clinicians will work collaboratively with a large team of neurologists and advanced practice providers, with opportunities for academic appointment and resident education.

• Sanford Health is a Level I Trauma Center & Joint Commission Accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center
• The department consists of 17 neurologists and 8 advanced practice providers
• Subspecialty representation in neuromuscular disease, epilepsy, movement disorders, multiple sclerosis/neuroimmunology, headache, stroke, neuro-ophthalmology, and neuro-hospitalist
• Hospital Coverage is provided by neuro hospitalists
• Neuro ICU covered by neuro-intensivists
• Work in collaboration with colleagues in neurosurgery, neuroradiology, neuropsychology, and physical medicine and rehabilitation

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical examination
• Admit patients (if applicable to the setting)
• Provide consultative services
• Evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to patients of all ages presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the neurologic system
• Obtain an academic appointment at University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences
• Collaborate with basic scientists and educate medical students and residents

Shift & Schedule

• Monday - Friday clinic hours (with the exception of stroke)

Requirements

• BC/BE neurologists
• Subspecialty fellowship training is preferred for subspecialties
• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Successful completion of a Neurology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
• If not board certified at time of application but completed residency within last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from residency completion date
