Neurologist MD/DO – Grand Rapids, MI

University of Michigan Health-West is seeking a full‑time neurologist to join our expanding, academic hybrid team. This position offers collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, mentorship, and research opportunities across Michigan Medicine and University of Michigan Health systems.

Candidate will coordinate and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure a positive experience for all patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities & Benefits

  • Work closely with a partnering team of specialists encompassing 37+ specialty care and hospital‑based service lines.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including surgeons, radiologists, and advanced practice providers—to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide care at a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
  • Offer sub‑specialized ambulatory group services in general neurology, sports neurology, movement disorder, and epilepsy.
  • Utilize diagnostic testing capabilities.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide spectrum of adult neurological conditions, including headache, epilepsy, stroke, neuropathy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, dementia, and neuromuscular disorders.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of emerging therapies and clinical trial opportunities for patients.
  • Educate and mentor medical students and residents, if desired.
  • Develop strong relationships with patients and families, providing emotional support and guidance throughout their treatment journey.

Qualifications

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) with board certification or eligibility in neurology.
  • Experience working with a diverse patient population; fluency in at least one of the following languages is preferred: English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Nepali, or Bosnian.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary environments.
  • Strong clinical knowledge in adult neurological conditions and emerging therapeutics.
