Neuroimmunologist

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the US, is seeking a BC/BE Neurologist with fellowship training in MS/Neuroimmunology to join their established neurology group in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This role offers an outpatient-only practice focus, supported by dedicated neuro-hospitalists and stroke specialists for inpatient coverage. The incoming physician will contribute to a growing academic environment, serving as principal faculty for the Sanford USD School of Medicine and supporting a new Neurology Residency program.

Practice Info

• Join a group of 13 neurologists, supplemented by 5 advanced practice clinicians, focusing on general neurology and subspecialties.
• Serve as principal faculty for the Sanford USD School of Medicine.
• Contribute to a new Neurology Residency program starting Summer 2023.
• Outpatient practice only, with dedicated neuro-hospitalists and three stroke specialists providing inpatient hospital coverage.
• Sanford Neurology is certified Thrombectomy Capable stroke through Joint Commission.
• The Sioux Falls location includes a 545-bed hospital, the only Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric verified Trauma Centers in South Dakota, and the region's only Level IV NICU.

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical examination.
• Admit patients (if applicable to the setting).
• Provide consultative services.
• Evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to patients of all ages presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the neurologic system.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Successful completion of a Neurology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
• If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training.
• BC/BE Neurologist.
• Fellowship trained in MS/Neuroimmunology.
• H-1B and J-1 visa sponsorship available.
