Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible neurologist to lead the transition to a neurohospitalist program in Bismarck. This role offers the opportunity to join a collaborative team of physicians and nurse practitioners within a Primary Plus Stroke Center Certified facility. The successful candidate will provide world-class neurological care and have the chance to educate medical students and family medicine residents.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the transition to a neurohospitalist program
  • Perform history and physical examination
  • Admit patients (if applicable to the setting)
  • Provide consultative services
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and provide nonsurgical care to patients of all ages presenting with illnesses, injuries, and disorders of the neurologic system
  • Educate medical students and family medicine residents

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of a Neurology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
  • If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
