The Department of Neurology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking applicants for a full-time Neurocritical Care faculty position for our Boston location. The successful applicant will be appointed at a Harvard Medical School rank commensurate with their level of experience and qualifications.

The successful applicant should have strong research interests as well as excellent clinical and teaching skills. Applicants are welcome for both junior and senior faculty ranks. Potential leadership opportunities are available depending on skills and experience level.

Job Requirements

  • MD from an accredited medical school
  • Board-certified or eligible in Neurocritical Care
  • A valid MA medical license or the ability to obtain one
  • A history of delivering superb clinical care and an interest in teaching residents and medical students
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Expertise in clinical or basic research is especially encouraged

Clinical Responsibilities

100% clinical effort to include: A minimum of 154 shifts in the Neurocritical Care Unit or staffing the Critical Care Consult service. This is equivalent to twenty‑two (22) weeks of seven‑day coverage.

Educational Responsibilities

Participate in the mentoring and education of residents, fellows and medical students. The Department will help ensure that you have ample opportunities for mentoring and collaboration.

Pay Range

$185,000 - $355,000

The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations. In addition to base compensation, this role may be eligible for performance‑based incentives, which may include bonuses for productivity and quality. HMFP also offers a comprehensive and generous employee benefits program to eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as retirement plan(s) with employer contributions.
