Database Administrator (DBA)Genesis10 is currently seeking a Database Administrator (DBA) for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Pennington, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.This role is responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining emerging database products on Linux operating systems. The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of Unix systems and scripting, with experience in distributed databases being a significant advantage.
The position involves maintaining multiple development, performance, and production environments with a strong focus on operations and production support. This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.Responsibilities:Design, deploy, and maintain emerging database products on the Linux operating systemCreate and implement fully functional database clustersMaintain multiple development, performance, and production environments with a strong focus on operations and supportManage cluster areas, such as adding/removing nodes, consistency tuning, replication, and multi-DC configurationRequirements:5+ years of UNIX/Linux experience with advanced knowledge of Shell scripting and/or Python scripting3+ years of experience in NoSQL or any Distributed Database TechnologiesExperience with DevOps tools like BladeLogic or AnsibleMust be versatile, flexible, and proactive when resolving technical issuesAbility to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writingAbility to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experienceExcellent interpersonal communication skillsDesired skills:Experience and knowledge of distributed databases such as Cassandra, Singlestore, CockroachDB, or RedisPrevious experience in high-volume environmentsPay rate: $63.68 - $71.68 per hour Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
