Network Automation EngineerGenesis10 is currently seeking a Network Automation Engineer for a hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chandler, AZ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.This Network Automation Engineer role supports the development and maintenance of network automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, visibility, and incident response. This position is for developing and applying skills in Python-based automation, network fundamentals, and operational support automation within a structured engineering environment.
Working under the guidance of senior automation engineers, the focus is on delivering well-defined automation tasks and enhancements.Responsibilities:Develop and enhance Python-based automation scripts to support network operations and monitoring use casesAssist in building and maintaining automation workflows used for event enrichment, diagnostics, and basic remediationSupport integration of automation with existing monitoring, telemetry, and alerting platformsParticipate in identifying repeatable operational tasks that can be automated under senior engineer guidanceHelp implement validation checks, logging, and basic guardrails in automation workflowsPerform testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of automation components in non-production and production environmentsMaintain documentation such as runbooks, automation usage guides, and operational notesProvide first-level support for automation tools and escalate complex issues to senior team membersFollow established development, version control, and deployment standardsRequirements:Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field4-6 years of experience in network operations, automation, scripting, or infrastructure support rolesWorking knowledge of Python, including writing and maintaining scriptsBasic understanding of REST APIs and JSON-based data exchangeFundamental understanding of enterprise networking concepts: Routing, switching, wireless, and basic SD-WAN conceptsFamiliarity with monitoring, alerting, or telemetry toolsBasic understanding of Linux environments and troubleshootingAbility to follow established designs and operational processesStrong willingness to learn and grow technical depth in automation and networkingGood communication skills and ability to collaborate within a teamDesired skills:Exposure to automation or scripting used in operational environmentsExposure to backend frameworks (such as Django or Flask)Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)Basic understanding of incident and problem management processesAwareness of observability concepts such as metrics, logs, and eventsInterest in Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD practicesPay range: $60.24 - $68.24 per hourOnly candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.If you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, please apply!
