BDR is seeking a Network Security Engineer to join our growing team! This position will be performed as a hybrid role with three (3) days on-site in Washington, D.C. This position requires US Citizenship with an Active Top Secret Clearance and SCI Eligibility (Military Veterans and HUBZone candidates are highly encouraged to apply).Role Overview: The Network Security Engineer will be responsible for maintaining computer networks and systems including LAN/WAN, Remote Access, VPN, routers, switches and other hardware.
Additionally they will be working with the Fortinet Suite to ensure security protocols are compliant and meet the customers needs.Responsibilities:Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal performance and reliability.Use of Fortinet suite (Fortigate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager) as well as managing and maintaining F5 load balancersImplement and manage network security measures to protect against unauthorized access, breaches, and other vulnerabilitiesConfigure and manage network hardware such as routers, switches, and firewallsDevelop and maintain network documentation, including network diagrams, configuration guides, and policiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to support network requirements for various projects and initiativesPerform network capacity planning and optimization to meet future business needsStay current with industry trends and advancements in network technologies and best practicesProvide technical support and guidance to other IT staff and end-users.Communicate project status, challenges, and successes to stakeholders in a clear and timely mannerRequired Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, or related field, such as Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent experience15+ years of using Fortinet suite (Fortigate, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager) as well as managing and maintaining F5 load balancersExperience of network engineering LAN/WANExperience with routing protocolsActive Top Secret clearanceIn addition, U.S Citizenship is required. Select applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance.
