Job Title: Infrastructure Security Engineer (Contract)

Location: Atlanta preferred, but not required. Local candidates should expect to be onsite at least 1 day per week. Remote candidates may be considered for the right fit.

Overview

We are seeking a Infrastructure Security Engineer to step into a critical backfill role supporting a broad range of enterprise infrastructure security initiatives. This position is ideal for a senior-level security generalist with strong hands-on engineering experience across multiple infrastructure and security technologies, rather than someone narrowly focused on one specialty.

This individual will help maintain continuity during the transition of a lead-level team member and will serve as a key technical resource across core network and infrastructure security functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior-level infrastructure security engineering resource across multiple domains
• Support, maintain, and optimize enterprise security infrastructure technologies
• Engineer, administer, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls
• Support and manage Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control
• Administer and enhance Zscaler solutions, including:
• Zscaler Private Access (ZPA)
• Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA)
• Zscaler Cloud App Control
• Support Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) environments
• Manage TLS certificate lifecycle processes, including issuance, renewal, and maintenance
• Support Web Application Firewall (WAF) technologies
• Assist with Cisco Meraki administration and support as needed
• Contribute to secure access strategy with a foundational understanding of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) principles
• Partner with infrastructure and security teams to strengthen security posture across the environment
• Provide troubleshooting, operational support, and engineering guidance across a variety of infrastructure security priorities
• Help ensure continuity and stability during a key leadership backfill

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience as an Infrastructure Security Engineer , Network Security Engineer , or similar senior-level security engineering role
• Proven background as a security generalist with experience across multiple security and infrastructure tools
• Heavy hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls
• Strong hands-on experience with Zscaler , especially ZPA and ZIA
• Experience supporting Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
• Experience with TLS certificate lifecycle management
• Experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) or similar network access control technologies
• Experience supporting or administering Web Application Firewalls
• Familiarity with Cisco Meraki
• Foundational understanding of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) concepts
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to operate independently in a lead-level engineering capacity

Preferred Qualifications

• Atlanta-based candidates preferred, but not required
• Local candidates should be comfortable working onsite at least 1 day per week
• Prior experience stepping into backfill or transition-focused roles
• Experience supporting a broad mix of infrastructure and security technologies in an enterprise environment
• Especially strong experience with Cisco ISE , as this may be one of the harder skill sets to find in market
• Atlanta local preferred, but not a requirement
• Hybrid expectation of at least 1 day onsite per week for local candidates
• Remote candidates may be considered for the right skill set and experience
