Network Security Engineer (Hybrid – Plano, TX)
NTT DATA is looking for a Network Security Engineer to join our team in Plano, Texas. The role is based in a hybrid arrangement and requires you to be a U.S. citizen or a green‑card holder.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a 24/7, rotational shift team handling platform and content engineering tasks, including tuning, stakeholder requests, escalations, reporting, and trainings.
- Administer security tools to collect logs from the environment and manage the lifecycle of supported tools, including patching and live updates.
- Adhere to SOPs and promptly notify stakeholders about log flow or format issues.
- Document best practices and identify automation opportunities for the incident‑response team.
- Handle security incidents across multiple vectors—endpoint protection, enterprise detection & response tools, malware analysis, network and computer forensics—utilizing LAN, Windows, and Linux skills.
- Perform maintenance tasks, monitor service delivery against SLAs, and maintain detailed records of incidents.
- Investigate incident causes, identify root causes, and implement remedies and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors, and carriers to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
Basic Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in security roles, including working with firewalls, IDS/IPS, proxies, and related technologies.
- Significant experience in technical client support, troubleshooting, and configuring security controls (EDR, NDR, SOAR, honey pots).
- Proficiency in SOC/CSIRT operations and end‑to‑end incident handling.
- Strong knowledge of networking, Linux, and security concepts, including syslog and log‑collection mechanisms.
- Experience with security architecture and engineering.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Zscaler and Prisma SASE; knowledge of checkpoint, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Cisco FTD firewalls.
- Customer‑service orientation, proactive thinking, problem‑solving, and strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to work well in a team and collaborate with stakeholders.
Academic Qualifications & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Information Technology or related field.
- Networking certifications such as CCNA, JNCIA, ACCA, PCNSA, CCSA.
- Security certifications such as AZ‑500, SC‑200, Security+, CEH, CISSP, CISM.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay range: $112,000 – $149,000. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all U.S. locations. Actual compensation will depend on location, experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. Incentive compensation may also be available.
