Network Operations ManagerMake a Difference! Join an organization dedicated to defining and advancing high-quality and accessible cancer care globally so all people can live better lives.The Network Operations Manager will report to the Director, IT Operations and is responsible for maintaining and supporting all network infrastructures, storage systems, and server-based equipment -- physical, virtual, and cloud-based -- as well as backup services for these systems. Support includes hardware and software.
This position monitors all aspects of network connectivity and responds proactively to any issues. Additionally, the Network Operations Manager is available 24x7 to respond to emergencies that may arise on our networks. The Network Operations Manager will supervise and mentor the Network Administrator(s).Major Responsibilities:Administers Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web ServicesResponsible for configuration, backups, and upkeep of all cloud-based systemsMentors and manages work of the Network Administrator(s)Administers VMware and is primary support contact for virtual hosts and servers located at both the organization's headquarters and the co-location siteResponsible for the equipment and operation of the data center located at both the organization's headquarters and the co-location siteConfigures and maintains all network devices including the firewall, servers, routers, switches, NAS systems, and iSCSI SAN unitsConfigures and maintains Active Directory records and group policies for organizationConfigures and maintains file server and data security monitoring softwareConfigures and maintains virtual machine backup environmentMonitors critical infrastructure hardware and takes appropriate action to resolve any issues as needed, including outside normal business hoursApproves new Windows and application updates through NinjaOne and other related tools on a regular basisEnsures updates are automatically distributed to all client computers to maintain latest hardware and software updatesMaintains company inventory database of hardware and softwareCreates and maintains documentation concerning software and hardware installation and/or troubleshooting proceduresPerforms other related duties as assignedEducation/Related Experience:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experiencePrevious supervisory experience5-7 years' experience in network and/or systems administrationKnowledge of Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services a plusVMWare Data Center Virtualization (VCP6-DCV) certification a plusSkills and Abilities:Advanced knowledge of, and experience with, current operating systems and software, including VMWare ESXi, VMWare VSphere, Microsoft Server, Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft Active DirectoryMust be familiar with Cisco Meraki, VMWare VSphere, TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCPInterest in maintaining knowledge of state of the art technology solutions and the ability to evaluate new technology to make appropriate recommendations for infrastructure upgradesStrong organizational and communication skillsProblem-solving ability with excellent multi-tasking skillsAbility to prioritize and perform a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal directionAbility to manage others and lead a teamWorking knowledge of configuration, installation, and troubleshooting of enterprise level hardware and softwareWork Environment & Physical Requirements:This position operates in a professional office environment and is largely sedentary.This role routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machinesAbility to lift up to 50 pounds on occasionWhen applying for this role, please include a cover letter along with your resume to describe your interest in this opportunity and how you demonstrate the skills as outlined in the above job description.This position represents a unique opportunity to build a career with a premier organization.
