CONTRACT PAY: $40.00 per hour (40 hours per week, paid weekly + Benefits & 401k)

SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking a Network Field Engineer to support enterprise network infrastructure across multiple higher education campus locations in Tempe, Arizona. This is a hands-on field role focused on installing, maintaining, upgrading, and troubleshooting wired and wireless network environments. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Arista and Cisco networking equipment, structured copper and fiber cabling, and Layer 2/Layer 3 networking. This position is well suited for someone who can work independently, troubleshoot complex network issues, and collaborate with engineering and operations teams on network installations, upgrades, and projects.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and related network infrastructure.
• Configure and troubleshoot Arista and Cisco networking equipment using CLI.
• Troubleshoot Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, VLANs, and Wi-Fi.
• Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot copper and fiber-optic cabling.
• Diagnose network connectivity, hardware, cabling, wireless, and performance issues using network testing tools.
• Provide professional onsite support to campus users and stakeholders.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 4+ years of hands-on enterprise network installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting experience.
• Strong experience with Arista and Cisco network equipment.
• Hands-on experience with CLI configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Layer 2/Layer 3 networking, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, VLANs, and Wi-Fi.
• Experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting structured copper and fiber-optic cabling.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel between campus locations.
• Ability to lift and move network equipment up to approximately 55 lbs.
• Availability for occasional nights, weekends, rotating shifts, and on-call support as needed.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, enterprise wireless technologies, CCTV, or access-control systems.
• Experience using network, fiber, and copper testing equipment.
• Experience supporting a large enterprise, campus, or similarly distributed network environment.
• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or Security+.

**Compensation & Employment Structure: This is a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity with the intention of converting to a full-time position. Upon conversion, the anticipated annual salary is approximately $75,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
