Network EngineerRole: Network EngineerLocation: NYC (Local)MoI: Video and Final F2F is MUSTPosition Overview: We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-level network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Cisco and Juniper technologies, take ownership of network projects, and ensure high availability, reliability, and security of our network systems. This role also includes network incident response and proactive improvement of our infrastructure.Key Responsibilities:Network Design & ImplementationDesign, configure, and deploy secure and scalable LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and data center network solutions.Develop high-availability network architecture, including redundancy, failover, and disaster recovery connectivity.Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and cloud engineering teams to support hybrid (on-prem + cloud) network environments.Network Operations & MaintenancePerform daily monitoring, maintenance, patching, and lifecycle management of routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and network appliances.Maintain accurate network documentation: diagrams, IP address plans, topology, standards, configurations, and runbooks.Incident Response & TroubleshootingAct as Tier-2/3 escalation for network-related incidents and outages, performing root cause analysis and timely resolution.Proactively identify network risks, performance bottlenecks, or security vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions.Continuous Improvement & Project LeadershipLead enterprise network upgrade projects, migrations, and new office/data center builds.Evaluate new networking technologies and tools to enhance reliability, security, and observability.Qualifications:Category - RequirementsExperience - Minimum 10+ years in enterprise network engineering, administration, or network operations roles.Core Skills - Strong hands-on experience with Cisco (IOS, NX-OS) and Juniper (Junos OS) technologies.Networking Technologies - Expertise in routing & switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP), MPLS, VLANs, VPN (IPSec, SSL), DNS, DHCP, and network segmentation.Tools & Platforms - Familiarity with network monitoring tools (Splunk, DataDog, etc.), configuration management, and logging platforms.Incident Response - Ability to lead network incident response, troubleshoot Layer 2/3 issues, and document RCA (Root Cause Analysis).Certifications (Plus) - CCNP, JNCIP, CCIE, or equivalent industry certifications preferred.Soft Skills Zero Trust Network Security - Analytical mindset, sense of ownership, strong communication, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Experience implementing or supporting Zero Trust platforms (e.g., Zscaler ZPA/ZIA, Zero Trust Network Access, identity-based segmentation, continuous authentication).Preferred Experience (Nice to Have)Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Azure VNets).
Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Python for network automation, Terraform). Understanding of ITIL processes, change management, and documentation practices.
