JT4, LLC Engineering And Technical SupportJT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.Job Summary -- Essential Functions/DutiesUnder the general supervision of senior-level engineers, a Network (Field) Engineer performs a variety of fundamental engineering tasks involved in the design, development, installation, operations, testing, and maintenance of communications equipment and systems.

They will have knowledge of wired & wireless communications systems, to include; digital, microwave, WAN, LAN and fiber-optic networks.Employee will be responsible for performing the following functions/duties:Support planning, design, evaluation, modification, operation, maintenance and sustainment of complex analog and digital voice, data and video communications networks, systems and equipment using a variety of transport media to include; twisted pair, coaxial cable, optical fiber, radio, microwave, point-to-point and point-to-multipoint networksAssess and diagnose the health of communications systemsConduct research and reference reading to assist higher-level engineers in obtaining technical informationKeep informed of and study currently approved standards, codes, and procedures applied to communications engineeringPerform engineering or other highly technical tasks that are varied and may be somewhat difficult in naturePlan and carry out successive engineering steps and resolve technical problems by applying standard practices and techniques, such as tolerance studies and design calculationsSupport projects with limited scope or parts of more complex projects with detailed instructions on the intent and scope of the documents to be preparedGenerate sections of design specifications of more complex projects or complete specifications of less complex projectsUsing computer-assisted test methods, conduct laboratory investigations on equipment or systemsAssist with preparation of drawings, documentation, reports, correspondence, or technical studiesPrepare, deliver, and submit technical presentations for in-process design and review meetingsPerform other job-related duties, as required.Desired QualificationsKnowledge and/or experience with software related to communications systemsTechnical knowledge of network hardware and architecture, Internet standards, protocols and transport methodologyFamiliarity with industry standards and installation practices for communication facilities and towers, including power and grounding methodologyKnowledge of MS Office suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPointKnowledge of MS Visio and/or AutoCAD is preferableStrong technical skills with aptitude and motivation to continuously learn and apply new technologiesFamiliarity with Juniper routers & switches (EX, MX, and SRX), Nokia digital microwave, Cisco routers & switches, network diagnostic software and cable fabrication tools.Requirements -- Education, Technical, And Work ExperienceAn associate's degree in engineering or other technical discipline, or formal academic/vocational/military training and a minimum of 7 years of technical/professional experience in the specialty field are required for this position.Additionally, a Network (Field) Engineer will possess the following qualifications:Professional knowledge of applicable engineering concepts and principles and familiarity with related engineering fieldsPractical knowledge of test methods and practices sufficient to perform routine to more complex engineering procedures and to prepare or make minor modifications of standard test procedures or test equipment work instructionsEffective verbal and written communication skillsPlanning/organizational skillsTeamwork skillsBenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision InsuranceLife InsuranceHealth Savings Accounts/FSA'sDisability InsurancePaid Time Off401(k) Plan Options with Employer MatchJT4 will match 50%, up to an 8% contribution100% Immediate VestingTuition ReimbursementOther ResponsibilitiesEach employee must read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to their job.Working ConditionsWork is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents; constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication; and constant mental alertness are required.Work will also be in a field environment which may have some hazards, mostly being environmentally related (these hazards will be reviewed in the training process).
