Network EngineerLocation: Philadelphia, PA Position Type: Contract Rate: $/hr. on W2 only US Citizen, Green Card onlyResponsibilities:Assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems (including wireless and VoIP) of moderate complexity.Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering.Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations.Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications.Monitors protocol compatibility, performs system tuning and makes recommendations for improvement.Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.Requirements:The candidate must possess the following skills:Working knowledge of DOCSIS along with prior cable industry experience involving high-speed InternetSolid understanding of networking and protocolsUNIX/Linux console-level experienceProgramming and/or scripting experience - Python, Shell, PerlTechnical troubleshooting experience involving networking and/or performance issues in large-scale distributed networkType of Assignment: Contract through 2016Interview Process: Phone followed by a F2F – (will address Skype with Manager if needed)
