Network Engineer Level 3As a Network Engineer Level 3 at Independent Software, you will provide advanced technical leadership in the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise network environments. You will support mission-critical infrastructure by resolving complex network challenges, leading engineering efforts, and ensuring systems meet performance, scalability, and compliance requirements. You will work closely with Network and System Administrators, engineers, and mission stakeholders to enhance network architecture, integrate advanced capabilities, and support evolving operational needs.Key Responsibilities:Provide advanced technical support to Network Administrators and System Administrators to maintain and improve network infrastructureMonitor, maintain, and optimize network performance, ensuring high availability and reliabilityTroubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across enterprise environmentsLead network upgrades, installations, and configuration effortsProvide input into network design and mission architectureConduct network defense operations and support secure network implementationsDevelop and maintain network diagrams, documentation, and accreditation artifactsConfigure and manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and related technologiesIntegrate hardware and software solutions to meet DoD/IC and ISO compliance requirementsOversee support and operational readiness of all network equipmentSupport integration of analytic platforms and network capabilities into operational environments (e.g., CND/CDC)Analyze and resolve complex issues involving network systems, hardware, and software integrationOperate network analysis tools, WAN test equipment, and network simulatorsDesign modules and models related to traditional and modern network architecturesLead large-scale network installation and deployment projectsDevelop algorithms and models related to networking and telecommunications technologiesProvide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teamsRequired Skills and Qualifications:Strong experience with enterprise networking technologies, including routing, switching, and network securityAdvanced troubleshooting skills across complex, multi-layered network environmentsExperience designing and implementing network architectures andFamiliarity with network analysis tools, simulators, and performance modelingStrong understanding of network protocols, WAN technologies, and telecommunications systemsExperience integrating network solutions into mission or operational environmentsAbility to lead technical efforts and support engineering teamsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsEducation and Experience:Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Network Engineering or a related discipline AND Twelve (12) years of relevant professional experience providing network engineering supportORMaster's degree from an accredited college or university in a related discipline AND ten (10) years of relevant experienceORSixteen (No degree)Certifications:Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is requiredClearance Requirement:Must possess an active TS SCI with appropriate Polygraph to be considered for this role**This position is contingent on contract award** Why Choose Independent Software: At Independent Software, our people are the mission.
