This is a key professional role responsible for designing, building, configuring, and maintaining sophisticated network infrastructure across our multi-location enterprise environment. The successful candidate will work independently on complex, mission-critical network systems with minimal supervision, bringing deep technical expertise and strategic thinking to enhance our network capabilities, security posture, and operational performance.
This role includes responsibility for leading and mentoring network engineering team members, driving technical excellence, and serving as a subject matter expert within the Network Services team.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and configure new network infrastructure to support business growth and technological initiativesMaintain and upgrade existing network systems including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), wireless networks, and VPNsOversee capacity planning and scaling to ensure network infrastructure meets current and future organizational needsEquipment & Systems ManagementInstall and configure network equipment including routers, switches, servers, WAN accelerators, and load balancersMaintain and implement security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, and antivirus software across enterprise systemsMonitor, install patches, and execute upgrades with minimal disruption to business operationsNetwork Performance & OptimizationTest and monitor network connectivity, capacity, and functionality across all locationsInvestigate network inefficiencies and implement enhancements to optimize overall network performanceTroubleshoot complex network issues as they arise, providing rapid resolution to minimize downtimeVendor & Stakeholder CollaborationServe as primary liaison with network vendors and third-party service providersCoordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless integration of network servicesCommunicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersTeam Leadership & DevelopmentLead and mentor Network Services team members, providing technical guidance and professional developmentEstablish and enforce technical standards, best practices, and processes within the Network Services teamConduct knowledge transfer and training on complex network systems and emerging technologiesParticipate in hiring and onboarding of Network Services staffFoster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence within the teamProvide performance feedback and support team members' career growth and developmentEducation/Experience:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or international equivalent)Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional experience in network engineering or related rolesAdvanced knowledge of enterprise network architecture, design, and implementationStrong proficiency with network equipment and systems (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, WAN acceleration)Demonstrated expertise in LAN, WAN, wireless, and VPN technologiesSolid understanding of network security principles and implementationsExperience with network monitoring, performance testing, and capacity planning toolsProven ability to work independently with wide latitude for judgment on complex network decisionsExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilitiesStrong communication and collaboration skills with ability to engage vendors and cross-functional teamsDemonstrated leadership experience and ability to mentor and develop technical staffTrack record of building and maintaining high-performing technical teamsAbility to balance hands-on technical work with team management responsibilitiesStrong interpersonal skills and commitment to fostering professional growth in team membersPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fieldCurrent industry certifications (CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent)Experience in manufacturing or multi-location enterprise environmentsKnowledge of cloud network integration and hybrid infrastructureFamiliarity with network automation and infrastructure-as-code toolsExperience with Microsoft enterprise technologies and AWS cloud servicesFormal training or certification in team leadership or management practicesPrior experience leading or managing technical teams in enterprise environmentsTravel Requirements: Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.Location: Tallassee, AL, Duluth GAEqual Opportunity Employer EEO/AA M/F/Vet DisabilityEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
