Infrastructure Support SpecialistResponsible for the supporting and maintaining public and private cloud infrastructure that includes network (LAN and WAN), server (physical and virtual as well as Windows and Linux), storage, security and cloud services and products. Deliver stable, reliable, and high performing infrastructure to the global organization. Apply new solutions through research and collaboration with the Private Cloud Team making sure designated standards are adhered to.
Provide customer support and perform troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution of infrastructure related issues to provide reliable end user application experience. Monitor, configure, and install infrastructure to support the customer needs. Collaborate with other IT teams and business unit teams to understand the details of new infrastructure being deployed to ensure it remains reliable and meets the performance metrics expected.
Interact with end user customers and 3rd party vendors as needed to ensure wired and wireless infrastructure needs are met.Network Engineer role • Comprehensive understanding of network services and networks such as TCP/IP, OSPF and EIGRP • In-depth knowledge of networking systems such as firewalls, routers, switches, wireless LAN controllers, access points • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently • Ability to design, implement and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and security infrastructure • Ability to communicate technical information to other technical team members but also to coworkers in other departments who may not have knowledge of networking technical terminology • Ability to manage several requests simultaneously from design to implementation • Monitor group request queues, alert notices, and other work request streams for new ad hoc requests • Regularly communicate status of requests with customers and key stakeholders via ServiceNow, email, Microsoft Teams, and phone as dictated by the severity and circumstances of the request • Maintain updated documentation of all in-progress and completed requests in appropriate systems • Install, configure, and maintain infrastructure within company operational guidelines • Create and maintain system documentation for infrastructure including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps • Identify opportunities for process improvement through solutions to recurring problems and enhancements to existing solutions or documentation.
