Network EngineerLocation: Farmington, CTMode: Contract (6+ Months)Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting network devices such as routers, switches, and firewallsTroubleshooting problems with existing networks to determine the cause of malfunctions or breakdowns and recommending solutionsDesigning and creating new computer networks according to company specificationsAnalyzing network performance to identify areas for improvementInstalling new network hardware and software, including APs, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other equipmentPerforming risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and recommend solutions to improve securityInstalling new or replace existing network equipment and updating software packagesDay to day operational support to 50 plus sites for Intranet, internet, wifi etcCoordinating with other departments, such as IT, to ensure that new system implementations meet the needs of other departments within the organizationMonitor network to ensure security, availability, and performanceAssist other IT teams with network project level workMaintain and support enterprise SSIDs and wireless controllersMaintain and support VPN for 1000 PHCT employeesManage high/moderate complexity projectsTroubleshoot network and application performanceBe network on-callDocument issues, resolutions, and changes in appropriate systemsAssist with other necessary network tasksQualifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science, networking administration, information technology, or a similar field.Hands-on experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, Citrix Netscaler for switching, routing, firewalls, wireless access points, wireless controller, and application deliveryExperience with RSA SecurID desiredIn depth knowledge of networking, TCP/IP, wireless networks, firewalls, DNS, SD-WAN and VoIPDeep understanding of routing, switching and firewalling technologiesFamiliarization with data center designCisco CCNP or better certification a plusMust have strong communication skills, both written and verbal and demonstrate a strong level of emotional intelligence.At least 5 plus years' experience as a network engineer.
