GovCIO is currently hiring for an Network Engineer to support modernization efforts. This position will be located in Langley AFB in Hampton, VA and will be a full time onsite position.
Responsibilities
We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and support the organization's network infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of wired and wireless networks across multiple locations. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, and network optimization, along with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in fast-paced environments
Design, deploy, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network environments
Configure and support routing and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and VLANs
Manage firewalls, VPN solutions, and network security technologies
Monitor network performance and availability; perform proactive capacity planning and optimization
Troubleshoot complex network issues and lead root-cause analysis
Implement network upgrades, patches, and configuration changes
Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and application teams to support cross-functional initiatives
Maintain accurate documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and standards
Support network automation, scripting, and orchestration efforts where applicable
Qualifications
HIgh School diploma and 9+ years (or commensurate experience)
Required Skills and Experience
Clearance Required: TS/SCI
Strong knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls, and network security best practices
Hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Palo Alto, etc.)
Proficiency with network tools for monitoring, diagnostics, and performance analysis
Understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, DHCP, and STP
Experience with VPN technologies, including IPsec and SSL
Ability to analyze network traffic and troubleshoot latency, connectivity, and performance issues
Experience with hybrid environments and enterprise IT solutions
DoD -M IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+,CND)
Preferred Skills and Experience
Certifications: ITIL, MCSE, VCP, CCNP, HP, SSL, or other relevant IT certifications.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related fields.
Technical background in networking
Experience with DoD Networks (NIPR, SIPR and JWICS)
