D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Network Engineer III. The right candidate will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of network systems communications.
Configures various network devices and services. Troubleshoots the network issues within established guidelines. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Maintain computer networks including routers, switches, VPNs and other physical hardware/softwareMonitor systems to improve network performance for all systemsTroubleshoot, resolve, and communicate networking issues to other employees and managementResearch, install, configure and upgrade network hardware and softwareCreate firewall rules and update software and data security systems to keep data and communications protectedImplement disaster recovery proceduresImprove knowledge and understanding of network and security best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systemsCoach and review the work of team membersProvide on-site support for projects that require on-site installation and supportDesign and implement new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networksArrange scheduled upgradesInvestigate faults in the networkUpdate network equipment to the latest firmware releasesConducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the companyReport network status to key stakeholdersParticipate in on-call rotationAbility to travel overnightEducation and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Four to seven years of related work experienceMust have a vehicle and a valid driver's licenseAdvanced understanding of network services and networks protocols (to include but not limited to): BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP, VRF, VTP, DHCP, DNSAdvanced understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as routers and switches and firewallsWorking knowledge with Cisco IOS and Nexus NX-OSAdvanced understanding of OSI model and troubleshooting of technology related issuesAble to work well in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable in stressful situationsEffectively communicate with management and non-technical personnel on any technology issue to ensure they understand the nature of the issue and current statue easily understood on any outage conference callsDetail oriented self-motivated goal drivenAbility to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficientlyAbility to implement and troubleshoot network and security infrastructureExperience managing large projects/processes working independentlyKnowledge of Windows operating systemsStrong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skillsAbility to execute excellent customer service relationship skillsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral form or via DRH applicationsProficiency with MS Office and emailAbility to lift 50 poundsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field from a four-year college or university preferredCisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) preferredWorking knowledge regarding Cisco Firewalls preferredExperience working in the F5 Load Balancer preferredExperience working in SDWAN preferredWorking knowledge in ACI preferredCome join a winning team with a Fortune 500 company!
