Network Engineer II (Lab Environment)Location: Menlo Park, CA (Onsite) Contract Duration: April 6, 2026 – September 30, 2026 Employment Type: ContractPosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer II to support the development and maintenance of a network lab environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the stability, functionality, and scalability of lab infrastructure used for testing and validation activities.The ideal candidate will possess strong hands-on experience with network hardware, demonstrated troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.Key ResponsibilitiesConfigure, deploy, and maintain network lab infrastructure to support engineering and testing initiativesIntegrate new network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls, into the lab environmentPerform advanced troubleshooting and break/fix support for network and hardware-related issuesCoordinate the delivery, installation, and setup of lab equipment and systemsSupport switch and network testbeds used for software validation and performance testingMaintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records of all lab equipment and assetsProvide console access and manage system control modules (SCMs) as neededCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure lab readiness and reliabilityDocument configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures to support operational excellenceRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical disciplineMinimum of four (4) years of relevant experience in network engineering or lab environmentsProven hands-on experience with network devices, including routers, switches, and firewallsStrong understanding of networking fundamentals, including:IP addressing (DHCP, SLAAC, Static IP)VLAN configuration and subnettingExperience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Juniper JUNOSFamiliarity with network management and access protocols, including SSH, Telnet, HTTP/HTTPSWorking knowledge of hardware troubleshooting, console access, and system modulesBasic understanding of power infrastructure, including PSUs, PDUs, and voltage requirementsExperience utilizing inventory management systems for asset trackingExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentPreferred QualificationsPrior experience working within a network lab or testing environmentKnowledge of lab safety standards, procedures, and best practicesAdditional InformationThis role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the operational integrity of the lab environment and supporting ongoing engineering efforts.
