Network EngineerOur partner is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide support for onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners who experience cyber-attacks, providing immediate investigation and resolution. Contract personnel perform investigations to characterize the severity of breaches, develop mitigation plans, and assist with the restoration of services.

They are seeking a motivated Network Engineer to implement, maintain and support the lab network infrastructure.ResponsibilitiesLeverage advanced analytical and technical skills to design and implement infrastructure solutions that enhance mission execution and support command decision-makingSupport the integration of new technologies and equipment within lab environments, including development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policiesAssess network topology and device configurations, identify critical security vulnerabilities, and recommend security best practicesProvide user support for Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) such as Citrix, as well as MacOS and iOS platformsTroubleshoot and resolve a broad range of technical issues, from basic to complex network problemsImplement granular access controls, monitor system performance and accessibility, establish and maintain backup protocols, and ensure system securityDiagnose and resolve complex enterprise storage issues across local and wide area networks, including replication strategy support and remediation of storage-related incidentsDesign, build, and maintain robust network environments by configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as updating network devices and performing IP address auditsEnsure optimal network performance by troubleshooting issues, enforcing system standards, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize infrastructureSecure network systems through policy enforcement, access controls, and continuous monitoringRequirementsUS Citizenship; Secret Clearance (TS/SCI preferred)Must be able to obtain DHS SuitabilityBS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree; or HS Diploma and 7+ years network administration, network engineering or systems administration experience5+ years of directly relevant experience in network administrationProficiency with multiple operating systems, including Linux/Unix and MacOSStrong knowledge and experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNsExperience and knowledge of networking and network administrationSkilled in working with virtual desktop environments (Citrix, VMware)Must be able to work collaboratively across physical locationsDesired Certifications: DoD IAT Level II; Network+; CCNADesired SkillsFamiliarity with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco switchesExperience with converged infrastructure solutions (e.g., FlexPod) and NetApp storage systemsProficiency with Cisco Intersight, vCenter, and virtualization automation/optimizationStrong documentation skills for technical procedures and SOPsCapable of creating and maintaining network diagramsDemonstrated experience in network design, implementation, and performance tuningProject management capabilities and excellent time-management skillsExpertise in hardening network devices and infrastructure for enhanced securityFor more than 20 years, NewGen Technologies has solved our clients' toughest IT challenges with integrity, security, and outstanding service by delivering both technology and talent.
