Network Engineer 3Location: San Antonio, TX (78247) Duration: 12-month contract Pay Range: $50 - $53/hr. on w2. Job ID: # Position Summary: Responsible for operations network support – script development, device configuration management, system administration, hardware support, software support, maintenance, security, troubleshooting.

Responsible for solution design, development, integration and enhancements to meet the business needs and project requirements. Also, responsible for documenting and developing operational procedures and provides end user support.Tasks And Responsibilities:Ensures monitoring network engineering performance and system availability and reliabilityLeads all configurations and installs of various network devices and services (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPN, QoS)Performs highly complex network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurationsMonitors performance and ensure system availability and reliabilityMonitors system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planningAssists in the development and implementation of security policies and proceduresInitiates, facilitates and promotes activities to create information security awareness within the organization.Performs information security risk assessments and serves as an internal expert for information security related issues.Provides Level 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve highly complex issuesWorks within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructureSelects and implements security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company's security team using wide latitude for independent judgement.Acts as the primary liaison with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.Minimum Qualification:Bachelor's degree in computer science, Business Computer Systems, Management Information Systems or related field from an accredited university.ORRelative experience in system management for network engineering.Demonstrated Associate level experience with Network EngineeringExperience with networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)Solid knowledge of OSI or TCP/IP modelsHands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics toolsExperience with cloud environmentsProven experience with Cisco ACI or Cisco Nexus Data Center technologiesKnowledge of key concepts in security management (vulnerability management, patch management, incident response)Skill in assessing security controls based on cybersecurity principles and frameworksExperience as a Network Administrator in a field supporting critical systems and providing technical solutions.Relative experience in supporting utility construction & maintenance.Preferred Qualifications:Relative experience in supporting utility construction & maintenance.Professional level networking certification (CCNP, CCDP, F5-CTS, VmWare VCP, Vmare VCAP)Competencies:Demonstrating Initiative, Serving customers, Driving for Results, Evaluating and Implementing Ideas, Driving Continuous Improvement, Communicating EffectivelyWorking Conditions:Working Environment - Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.Operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion. After hours work may be required.Works various fluctuating schedules to include rotating shift work, call duty, extended hours and weekends.Physical Demands:Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.Some positions will require exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally with or without accommodation, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
