Job TitleHealth & Environmental Control Department (DHEC) is seeking additional staff to support the effort of upgrading 2008/2012 Servers and implementing the movement of servers located on the DHEC Flat Network to the State IT Infrastructure segmented network environment. The team will ensure systems are set up following industry best practices to ensure strategic initiatives and compliance with federal and state regulatory laws and ensure business continuity.This will include the install, upgrade, and maintenance of middleware software, applications utilized by the agency. These positions will be a part of the team responsible for the implementation of this project. They will also be involved with supporting the day-to-day operations of the Agency's Server Hosting environment.Candidates should be self-motivated, team-oriented, work under limited supervision, and respond to priority tasks as needed.Daily Duties/ResponsibilitiesParticipate in a team comprised of DHEC and solution implementation staff for Server Hosting related planning, designing, installation, configuration, and conversion of physical and virtual server environment associated with middleware software and applications.

Will coordinate with Server Hosting Team Lead on the daily assignments, tasks and coordinate and collaborate with contract staff as well as existing DHEC Server Hosting staff. Ensure project and task timelines are set, met, mitigate issues by resolving or proposing solution. Support the migration of Servers from Flat Network to Segmented Network. This will include assisting with new install and upgrades associated with middleware software and applications in a development, test, and production environment.The position will be utilized for 40 hours per week for the duration of this project.

The selected candidate should be able to work flexible hours where it may be necessary for work to be completed outside traditional business hours. Specific duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:Monitor Systems to ensure maximum uptime using SolarWinds and other toolsMonitor and identify server issues and remediate.Support of systems running on Microsoft server, AIX, and LinuxCreate and maintain supporting GPO and PowerShell scriptsAssist with application and server firewall rules.Monitor agency ticketing system and complete assigned tickets.Assist staff in resolving system-related problems.Assist with System user account permissions and security.Coordinate and assist with system testing and production validation.Assist with supporting Active Directory Services, LDAP, and SSOAdhere to State and Agency Security and IT policies and standards.Develop solutions and automated methods to reduce manual and repetitive tasks.Work closely with key stakeholder groups, including the SOC, to ensure appropriate levels of engagement and focus are maintained.Assist with server-side application and system installations, upgrades, and configurationPlan and implement technical changes without unexpected disruption to the service and with minimal oversight.Adheres to Information Technology application development standards and security requirements.Prepare and maintain system documentation and architecture diagrams as assigned.Requires mastery technical and business knowledge in multiple disciplines/processes.Assist with development of policies and procedures to conform and comply with agency standard cyber security policy design related to information risk management, designation of data as to criticality, confidentiality, and protection.The position will be utilized for 40 hours per week for the duration of this project. The candidate will work closely with the Enterprise Computing Services Team Lead and Section Manager to identify, prioritize, and schedule workload and implementation to IT standards and procedures.

The candidate will work closely with customers and subject matter experts for the system design, migration to the new framework, and testing. This will also include compliance to DHEC security policy/procedures as well as integrating systems when possible, to streamline staff workflows, user security, and data correction.Required SkillsRequired skills (rank in order of importance):Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise LinuxGPO and PowerShellMicrosoft Active DirectoryCitrix Platform Server SystemsExperience with backup and DR in enterprise environment.IT network, virtual environments, database, and storageDemonstrated knowledge/skills of the IT industry which includes: multi-tiered architectures, enterprise applications, evaluation of emerging technologies, networks, data management systems and hardware systems.Experience with security and data classification related to CDC, HIPAA, and CJISTechnical writing.Preferred SkillsPreferred skills (rank in order of importance):Experience with Microsoft HyperVCitrix Presentation Server or XenAppDell Compellent SAN Administration.Ability to establish positive working relationships with technical staff, customers and others involved in data-centric management.Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skillsKnowledge of Information Technology Field, best practices, organization, and operationsExperience with SolarWindsAbility to integrate technical systems with agency goals and objectives.Experience with ticketing systemsRequired EducationBachelor's or Master's Degree in a relevant field of work or equivalent work experience.
