Network Cabling Technician
Experienced Network Cabling Technician to support network infrastructure, facilities operations, and site security. If you excel at racking/stacking, cable patching, troubleshooting, and IP phone support, this role puts your hands-on skills to work every day.
Location: San Fancisco, CA
Traveling: 2-hour radius
Pay: $28/HR
Responsibilities:
- Rack, stack, patch, and troubleshoot network devices.
- Install and de-install switches, routers, phones, and related hardware.
- Support Cisco & Avaya IP phone installs, programming, and troubleshooting.
- Perform physical layer diagnostics using Sniffers, BERT, cable/fiber testers.
- Complete MAC (Move/Add/Change) requests within SLA.
- Support carrier circuit testing and backup connectivity checks.
- Assist with facilities tasks: UPS restoral, cooling issues, water events, fire suppression activities.
- Manage inventory: receiving, tagging, tracking spares, returning damaged equipment.
- Communicate clearly with customers and act as onsite interface with management.
Requirements:
- 5+ years in data communications.
- Strong experience in communications closets and rack/cabinet work.
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN basics, Cisco phones/switches/routers.
- Familiarity with 66/110 blocks and cross-connect procedures.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment safely.
- Excellent customer communication and problem-solving skills.
