Cable/Network Technician (Evening Shift)
Hours: Work Schedule: 2pm - 12am - Thursday - Sunday
Duration: 06 months with possible extensions or hire
Pay Rate: $27/hr on W2
Location: Onsite - Richmond, VA 23228
Description:
- Data Technician with a proven track record in:
- Fiber optic cabling installation, inspection and cleaning
- Copper cable termination and certification
- Cable patching between devices
- Racking and stacking of network devices
- Physical layer troubleshooting
- Equipment disposal activities
- Network troubleshooting.
Experience and Education:
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in data communications:
- The patching cabling between network equipment and customer’s network
- The installation of power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet
- The installation, troubleshooting and de-installing network equipment
- Install/swap out devices (e.g., phone, computers, cables, boards, edge routers, switches and etc.)
- Install, troubleshoot, and de-install Network monitoring tools
- Complete all hard and complex Move, Add Change (MAC) requests within the defined service levels
Responsibilities:
- The installation of copper and fiber optic cabling and support infrastructure
- The patching cabling between network equipment and customer’s network
- The installation of power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet
- The installation, troubleshooting and de-installing network equipment
- Install/swap out devices (e.g., phone, computers, cables, boards, edge routers, switches and etc.
