Senior Core Network Architect & ConsultantAs a Senior Core Network Architect & Consultant your roles and responsibilities will include:As a consultant, you will be responsible for the "big picture" health of our network. You will ensure that our core architecture not only supports current traffic demands but is also engineered for extreme scalability, hardened security, and ultra-low latency performance to support future-proof emerging technologies.Architectural Strategy: Define the long-term technical roadmap for the core network, leading the transition toward cloud-native and virtualized environments (NFV/SDN).High-Level Design (HLD): Author and maintain comprehensive documentation, architectural diagrams, and technical specifications for core signaling and routing.Performance Optimization: Conduct deep-dive analysis of existing bottlenecks and provide actionable engineering recommendations for latency reduction and throughput optimization.Security & Compliance: Audit network architecture against evolving industry standards and lead the implementation of zero-trust securityMost importantly, you need to be a passionate Senior Core Network Architect & Consultant who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Senior Core Network Architect & Consultant would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:Experience: 12+ years in Network Engineering, with at least 5 years in a Lead Architect or Principal Consultant role within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 provider environment.Soft Skills: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical jargon into clear, value-based language for non-technical stakeholders.Core Routing & Protocols: Mastery of: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, and Segment Routing (SR-MPLS/SRv6).Expertise in traffic engineering and peering optimization.Signaling & Mobile Core: Deep understanding of 4G/5G Core (EPC/5GC), IMS, SIP, and Diameter. Familiarity with CUPS (Control and User Plane Separation) architectures.Virtualization & Cloud: Hands-on experience with OpenStack, VMware NSX, or Kubernetes-based networking (CNFs).
