Networking And Hybrid Connectivity EngineerThis is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on networking and hybrid connectivity. The position will work in partnership with internal infrastructure staff and external consultants to design, implement, and operate AWS-based and hybrid solutions supporting clinical and business applications.
The role will also help distribute operational responsibilities across the team to reduce single points of failure and improve overall system resilience.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with infrastructure team members to support and maintain enterprise on-premises wired and wireless networksParticipate in wireless design and optimization including RF tuning and site surveysSupport Fortinet platforms (FortiGate, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)Support and troubleshoot SSL and IPSec VPN connectivity and site-to-site integrationsAssist with routing protocols including BGP and OSPFSupport hybrid connectivity between on-premises environments and AWS (VPN and Direct Connect)Assist in distributing operational ownership to reduce single points of failureSupport day-to-day network operations including firewall changes, VPN configuration, and troubleshootingServe as a key contributor and emerging technical lead for AWS networking and infrastructureSupport AWS services including VPC, subnets, routing, security groups, and gatewaysCollaborate with DevOps teams to align infrastructure with application and CI/CD requirementsMonitor performance and availability across on-prem and cloud environmentsMaintain accurate documentation including diagrams, configurations, and change recordsOn-Call & Operational Support:Participate in an on-call rotation with other infrastructure team members to support after-hours incidents impacting critical systems.Required Qualifications:5–8 years of experience in network administration or infrastructure operationsStrong hands-on experience with enterprise networking (routing, switching, VPNs)Experience supporting Fortinet networking and security platformsExperience with SSL/IPSec VPN technologiesWorking knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPFHands-on or intermediate experience with AWS networking and infrastructureExperience supporting hybrid on-premises and AWS environmentsStrong understanding of network security in regulated environmentsDetail-oriented with strong documentation disciplineAbility to work collaboratively within a team-based environmentPreferred Qualifications:Scripting experience (PowerShell or Python)Microsoft 365 or Azure experienceSuccess in This Role:Reduce operational workload on existing network infrastructure through shared ownershipDevelop strong understanding of the organization's hybrid environmentContribute to AWS networking and connectivity design and implementationImprove documentation and operational consistencySupport transition to a hybrid cloud operating model
