The Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance and support of the organization's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and telecommunications systems across multiple sites.

Reporting directly to the Director of Infrastructure & Operations, this individual plays a key role in ensuring network performance, availability, and security across the enterprise. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with hands-on experience managing enterprise network environments and a strong commitment to uptime, documentation, and continuous improvement.The company culture is dynamic, entrepreneurial and fast paced, and has been created following a number of domestic and international acquisitions during the last several years. This position is on-site. You will join in the process of upgrading and standardizing our IT functions to bring uniform and consistent global standards to all of our worldwide entities.Job ResponsibilitiesAdminister, monitor, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and SD-WAN across all organizational sitesEnsure network availability, performance, and reliability through proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and timely troubleshooting of issuesConfigure and manage network security controls including firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, and network segmentation in alignment with organizational security policiesSupport WAN connectivity and telecommunications infrastructure, including carrier circuit management and service provider coordinationAssist in the design and implementation of network upgrades, expansions, and technology refresh initiatives as directed by the Director of Infrastructure & OperationsMaintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation including diagrams, configurations, IP address management (IPAM), and change logsRespond to and resolve network-related incidents and service requests within defined SLAs; escalate complex issues as appropriateCollaborate with the cybersecurity team to support network security initiatives, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirementsParticipate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for critical network incidents and outagesSupport disaster recovery and business continuity efforts related to network infrastructure, including DR testing and failover proceduresExperience and Education3+ years of hands-on experience in network administration or a related infrastructure role within an enterprise environmentExperience managing multi-site WAN environments including carrier circuit management and telecom coordinationExperience with SD-WAN technologies and cloud networking concepts (Azure Virtual Network, ExpressRoute, or equivalent) preferredFamiliarity with ITIL-based change management and incident management processesPreferred certifications: Cisco CCNA or CCNP, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent vendor certificationsBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field desiredAssociate's degree with equivalent work experience may be considered.Skills and QualificationsStrong hands-on knowledge of enterprise networking technologies including routing, switching, VLANs, QoS, BGP, OSPF, and MPLSExperience with SD-WAN platforms (e.g., Cisco Meraki, Fortinet, VeloCloud, or equivalent)Proficiency with firewall administration (Cisco, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or equivalent) and VPN configurationFamiliarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco DNA Center, or equivalent)Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security principlesStrong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues efficientlyGood communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across IT teams and with external vendorsHighly organized with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate documentation and change management practicesWork EnvironmentProfessional office and data center environment; occasional work in server rooms or network rooms requiredMulti-site environment with occasional travel to regional offices, data centers, or vendor locationsParticipation in on-call rotation required to support after-hours network incidents and maintenanceFast-paced environment requiring the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and incidents simultaneouslyCompany BenefitsAmerican Vanguard values our employees and their families.
