We are excited to announce a recruitment for the countywide position of Network Administrator II classification. There is currently one vacancy in Contra Costa Health, which will be assigned primarily to the Information Technology Unit located in Concord, CA. Other departments throughout the County may use the eligible list from this recruitment to fill future vacancies.

In addition to the Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and various Health Clinics, the Health Services department is composed of several other divisions, including Behavioral Health, Contra Costa Health Plan, Emergency Medical Services, Environmental Health, Hazardous Materials, Homeless Housing and Health, and Public Health. What you will typically be responsible for:
- Managing systems in our data centers, including servers, storage, backups, virtualization platforms, and providing support for users and customers.
- Managing backup and recovery for various systems.
- Working with a team to manage and support on-premises Active Directory, group policy.
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting internal applications.
- Troubleshooting various systems, access, and tier 2 support for our end users.

The eligible list established from this recruitment may remain in effect for six (6) months.
Education:
Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in computer science, information processing or a closely related field.
Experience:
Four (4) years of full-time or its equivalent experience in designing, installing, and helping to maintain complex multi-site Network Server Operating Systems, Systems administration including storage, virtualization, and cloud, at least one year performing lead duties.
Substitution:
Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis up to a maximum of four years.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing technologies you are being hired to support.
- Certifications in any of the following areas: AWS, Azure, M365 Administration, VMware, and/or NetApp).
- Experience with Windows server, VMware SQL, Active Directory, and cybersecurity administration.
CONVICTION HISTORY

DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
