Texas Department of Motor Vehicles will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Candidate(s).The Network Administrator I will be a SolarWinds Administrator who will support the implementation, maintenance and operations of SolarWinds and its supporting infrastructure, integrating with other systems, and developing and supporting automation.
This position focuses on the following scope:Implement, configure, document the following products in failover mode: NCM, NPM, Server & Application Monitor ALX and Orion Enterprise Operations ConsoleIntegrated pollers with the possibility for pollers at multiple sitesConfigure alerting and thresholdsServiceNow auto ticketing integration (preferred experience)Integration with SQLDesign, document architectureII. Candidate Skills and QualificationsMinimum Requirements: Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity.3 - Required - Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major in computer science, electronics, telecommunications, or related field plus a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in telecommunications network problem resolution activities.3 - Required - Ability to create formal documentation for systems administration, operations, and maintenance2 - Required - Experience with network monitoring products2 - Required - Experience with Linux or Windows System Administration1 - Required - Network experience, understanding WAN/LAN technologies with network monitoring1 - Required - Experience performing network monitoring in a virtual environment1 - Required - Experience troubleshooting VMWare issues in a large environment1 - Required - Knowledge of a scripting language (e.g., bash, perl, python) and experience with creating scripts to automate processes1 - Required - Ability to build custom dashboards and reports1 - Required - Experience with SNMPv3 network management tools, security management tools, traffic analysis tools, including NetFlow and NetFlow collectors1 - Required - Experience running discoveries of network devices on the network and building a logical topology2 - Preferred - Texas State Agency network administrator experience1 - Preferred - Network certificationsIII. Terms of ServiceServices are expected to start 02/01/2023 and are expected to complete by 08/31/2023. Total estimated hours per Candidate shall not exceed 1480 hours. This service may be amended, renewed, and/or extended providing both parties agree to do so in writing.IV.
Work Hours and LocationServices shall be provided during normal business hours unless otherwise coordinated through the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, excluding State holidays when the agency is closed. The primary work location(s) will be at 4000 Jackson Ave, Austin, TX 78731. Any and all travel, per diem, parking, and/or living expenses shall be at the Candidate's and/or Vendor's expense. Texas Department of Motor Vehicles will provide pre-approved, written authorization for travel for any services to be performed away from the primary work location(s).
Pre-approved travel expenses are limited to the rates and comply with the rules prescribed by the State of Texas for travel by its classified employees, including any requirement for original receipts. The Candidate(s) may be required to work outside the normal business hours on weekends, evenings and holidays, as requested. Payment for work over 40 hours will be at the hourly rate quoted and must be coordinated and pre-approved through Texas Department of Motor Vehicles.
