Blutic is looking for a highly skilled Netezza Performance Engineer with a minimum of 7+ years of experience in database performance engineering , query optimization, workload tuning, and performance analysis within large-scale enterprise data warehouse environments. The ideal candidate should possess deep expertise in identifying performance bottlenecks, optimizing SQL workloads, improving system throughput, and enhancing overall platform efficiency in mission-critical 24x7 environments.
The candidate should have strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities along with hands‑on experience working with Netezza architecture, Linux/Unix systems , and large development teams supporting high-volume transactional and analytical workloads.
This is a 100% remote opportunity. The candidate will need to work in PST time zone, 8am to 5 pm.

- The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Lead database performance engineering initiatives for Netezza environments supporting enterprise-scale data warehouse platforms.
- Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries, ETL jobs, and stored procedures, providing recommendations displaying performance improvements.
- Identify system bottlenecks related to CPU, memory, disk I/O, SPU distribution, skew, and concurrency issues.
- Optimize database performance through effective table design, distribution keys, zone maps, data organization, and partitioning strategies.
- Collaborate with application development, ETL, BI, and infrastructure teams to improve application SQL performance.
- Monitor platform health, workload behavior, and long-running queries using Netezza performance monitoring tools and custom scripts.
- Hands‑on experience with Groom, Generate Statistics, query execution plans, and database performance diagnostics.
- Strong understanding of Netezza architecture, Postgres internals, query execution engine, and parallel processing concepts.
- Recommend database performance best practices, coding standards, and optimization frameworks.
- Support high‑availability enterprise environments with focus on performance stability, scalability, and reliability.
- Ability to document performance findings, optimization recommendations, and engineering solutions for technical and management stakeholders.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
- Exposure to Snowflake or modern cloud data warehouse technologies.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring and observability tools.
