A well-established and growing electrical services organization is seeking experienced Electrical Testing Technicians to support its field service operations throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Position Summary
The Electrical Testing Technician will perform acceptance, maintenance, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities on low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution equipment.
The position requires hands-on field experience, familiarity with electrical testing equipment, and the ability to safely evaluate electrical systems in accordance with applicable industry standards and procedures.
Opportunities are available across multiple experience levels. Depending on experience and certification, technicians may work independently, lead portions of field projects, mentor junior technicians, or continue developing toward higher levels of technical responsibility and certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform acceptance and maintenance testing of electrical equipment in accordance with NETA and applicable industry standards.
- Test and inspect low- and medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breakers, transformers, protective relays, automatic transfer switches, motor control centers, grounding systems, and related equipment.
- Operate electrical testing equipment including insulation resistance testers, digital multimeters, hipot equipment, transformer turns ratio testers, primary and secondary injection equipment, and relay test sets.
- Perform troubleshooting, problem identification, start-up, and commissioning activities.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment documentation.
- Evaluate equipment condition and identify potential operational or safety concerns.
- Accurately document field activities, testing results, deficiencies, and recommendations.
- Prepare clear and detailed technical service reports.
- Communicate effectively with customers, project leadership, and other field personnel.
- Follow established safety procedures and customer-specific requirements while working in energized and de-energized electrical environments.
Qualifications
- Previous experience with electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, or related electrical field services.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems and electrical/mechanical testing procedures.
- Experience using electrical testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to complete electronic field documentation.
- Ability to travel approximately 20–25% based on project requirements.
NETA Level II, III, or IV certification is strongly preferred.
Candidates with equivalent electrical testing experience who are working toward NETA certification may also be considered.
Compensation & Benefits

This is a field-based position involving work in both indoor and outdoor environments. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, which may include:
- Lifting, carrying, and moving equipment weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Climbing ladders and stairs and working from elevated positions.
- Standing, walking, sitting, and operating vehicles for extended periods.
- Bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, and working in confined or awkward spaces.
