Location: Silver Spring, Maryland
Experience: 5–7 years
About the roleWe’re hiring a hands-on .NET Implementation Lead on behalf of a client in Silver Spring, Maryland. In this role, you’ll work with the client’s business and technical teams to implement solutions across .NET, Azure, Dynamics 365, and Microsoft Power Platform. You’ll translate business requirements into working solutions, determine where configuration can meet the need and where custom development is needed, and guide the team through testing, deployment, and rollout.
You’ll stay hands-on with C# extensions, APIs, and integrations while mentoring developers and coordinating delivery with business, data, and platform teams.
Responsibilities- Lead solution implementation. Translate business requirements into solution designs, implementation tasks, and testable acceptance criteria. Guide configuration, development, integration testing, user acceptance testing, and rollout.
- Build and integrate Microsoft solutions. Develop and support C# and ASP.NET Core applications, REST APIs, background services, and custom extensions. Integrate with Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Apps, and Power Automate as needed.
- Guide technical design. Use dependency injection and clear component boundaries to keep solutions testable and maintainable. Apply patterns such as retries with backoff, circuit breakers, and idempotent message handling where appropriate.
- Lead AI-assisted implementation. Use GitHub Copilot or a comparable coding agent to turn acceptance criteria into implementation plans, generate code and tests, and run automated checks locally and in CI. Use build and test output to guide the agent in diagnosing failures, applying fixes, and rerunning checks. Review generated code and test assertions against the original requirements before merging.
- Maintain Azure DevOps pipelines. Build and maintain YAML-based Azure Pipelines for .NET builds, automated unit and integration tests, pull request validation, artifact publishing, and deployments across environments.
- Troubleshoot and tune performance. Use Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and .NET diagnostics to investigate slow APIs, inefficient SQL queries, and CPU or memory bottlenecks. Verify improvements with before-and-after measurements of latency, throughput, or resource usage.
- Connect applications to the Azure data platform. Work with data engineers to define data contracts and deliver application feeds using Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Databricks. Help troubleshoot feeds that support downstream Power BI reporting.
- Mentor developers and support production rollout. Lead design and code reviews, help resolve implementation issues, coordinate release readiness and operational handoff, and lead technical follow-up on production issues.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience in application development, systems integration, or enterprise solution implementation, including hands-on work with C#, .NET, and ASP.NET Core.
- Experience leading technical implementation or delivery, mentoring developers, and communicating design and rollout decisions to business stakeholders.
- Experience building REST APIs and system integrations, working with SQL and relational databases, and implementing authentication and authorization.
- Experience deploying or supporting applications in Azure and building or maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and Azure Pipelines.
- Experience applying software design patterns and diagnosing application or database performance issues.
- Proficiency with Visual Studio or Visual Studio Code for .NET development and debugging.
- Hands-on experience using GitHub Copilot or a comparable AI coding agent to generate code and tests, investigate failures, and verify fixes through automated testing and code review.
- Experience configuring or integrating Dynamics 365, Dataverse, Power Apps, or Power Automate, including using Copilot to prototype apps or workflows.
- Experience integrating applications with Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Databricks, or supporting Power BI reporting.
- Familiarity with Python for scripting, troubleshooting data integrations, or reading Azure Databricks notebooks. Experience with PySpark is a plus.
- Experience with Azure Service Bus, managed identities, or Azure Key Vault.
