Neonatology Physician

We are seeking a Neonatologist for an ongoing locum opportunity in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina , beginning December 2026. This position offers approximately 7 -hour shifts per month , combining in-house Level II NICU coverage with call and telehealth rounding at affiliated facilities.

Assignment Details

• Start: December 1, 2026
• Ongoing until a permanent physician is hired
• 7 10 shifts per month
• 36 guaranteed hours
• FTE backfill coverage

Schedule

• 24-hour shifts
• Approximately 8 10 hours in-house
• Remaining hours on call
• 30-minute response time while on call
• Call coverage throughout the 24-hour shift

Practice Setting

• Neonatology
• Level II NICU
• In-person Neonatology coverage
• Telehealth rounding at three additional facilities
• Additional coverage includes two Level II facilities and one Level I facility
• No trauma responsibilities
• Academic medical center experience not required

Support Staff

• APP coverage onsite 20 hours per day
• APP support available seven days per week

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person Neonatology care
• Manage Level II NICU patients
• Provide telehealth rounding at affiliated facilities
• Provide call coverage during the 24-hour shift
• Maintain a 30-minute response time while on call

Requirements

• MD or DO
• Board Certified or Board Eligible within five years
• Neonatology fellowship required
• Active South Carolina medical license
• Epic experience required
• MUSC Submission Checklist required with submission
