We are a well‑established team of 4 neonatologists and 5 NNPs. We have a manageable Level III NICU— a place where you’ll care for a balanced mix of patients without the high‑volume burnout. Hospital‑employed pediatricians handle routine newborn care, allowing you to focus on what you do best. Your Work Schedule (Full‑Time)
- ~2 weeks/month alternating between primary and backup neonatologist roles
- Primary neonatologist:
- In‑house daytime coverage (8 a.m.–4 p.m.) of primary patients and supervision of half of NNP patients
- At‑home backup for in‑house NNP overnight
- Attend high‑risk deliveries (<27 weeks, major anomalies)
- Backup neonatologist:
- Short in‑house rounding (8 a.m.–11 a.m.) on primary patients and supervision of half of NNP patients
- At‑home availability for backup support of primary neonatologist emergencies
Our NICU at a Glance
- 46‑bed, Level III single‑room design with average census of 25
- ~450 admits/year with 10% under 1500 grams
- In‑house 24/7 NNP coverage (minimum 5‑year Level III experience)
- High‑frequency oscillators, jet ventilators, iNO (ECMO and cardiac patients transferred to in‑state Level IV regional NICUs)
- Total body cooling with 24/7 video EEG and pediatric neurology support
- POCUS with bedside ultrasound available
- Donor milk + dedicated milk tech preparation of feedings
- EPIC and Baby Steps Cloud EMRs
- Dedicated procedural nurses: delivery attendance, intubation, umbilical and PIC line placement, NICU transport (air and ground)
- NICU‑dedicated SLP/PT/OT/RT/pediatric pharmacy 7 days/week

Qualifications
- BC/BE in Pediatrics and Neonatal‑Perinatal Medicine
- Minimum 5‑year Level III NICU experience preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
