Neonatologist - Medical Director

Pediatrix, in affiliation with Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, is seeking a Board-Certified Neonatologist to serve as Practice Medical Director at Carilion Clinic Children's Hospital in Roanoke, VA. This leadership opportunity is for a physician dedicated to advancing clinical innovation, quality improvement, and academic growth within a thriving neonatal program. The role involves elevating an already strong clinical practice as Carilion Clinic expands its neonatal academic and quality initiatives.

Practice Info

• Level IIIB NICU with 60 beds
• Approximately 625 annual admissions
• Regional perinatal center with 4,800 annual deliveries
• Advanced therapies including high-frequency ventilation and nitric oxide
• Comprehensive pediatric subspecialty support including maternal-fetal medicine and pediatric surgery

Responsibilities

• Serve as Practice Medical Director
• Advance clinical innovation, quality improvement and academic growth
• Teach medical students and residents in pediatrics and family medicine
• Actively participate in Grand Rounds and simulation Boot Camps
• Mentor resident-led quality improvement projects
• Develop and expand scholarly activity in collaboration with Carillion academic initiatives

Requirements

• BC Neonatologist
• MD or DO degree
• Licensed, or eligible for licensure, in Virginia
