Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an enthusiastic Pediatric Hospitalist to provide clinical coverage across its Level III and Level IV NICUs. This role involves attending high-risk deliveries, performing essential procedures, and collaborating with neonatology and multidisciplinary teams. Practice Info
- Clinical coverage across Level III and Level IV NICUs
- Level III NICU at Mount Sinai West (average daily census of 20)
- Level IV NICU at The Mount Sinai Hospital (average daily census of 50)
- Active delivery services with strong MFM referral bases at both sites
- NICU teams include neonatologists, pediatric hospitalists, advanced practice providers, resident physicians, nurses, and support staff
- Flexibility in location/breakdown of NICU coverage depending on applicant's preferences
Responsibilities
- Attend rounds as a key team member to provide care for critically ill newborns, including coordination of multidisciplinary care, admitting, and discharging patients
- Attend deliveries and provide neonatal resuscitation/stabilization
- Perform procedures in the NICU such as intubation, umbilical lines, chest tubes, among others
- Conduct consultations for newborns in the Well-baby Nursery and determine whether a higher level of care is indicated
- Coordinate with subspecialists, participate in transports, and communicate daily with families
- Contribute to quality improvement, education, and protocol development
Compensation
- Compensation range from $160,000 to $210,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
- The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree from an accredited program
- Successful completion of a 3-year Pediatric ACGME approved residency program
- Active state medical license and DEA registration
- NRP certification
- ACLS/PALS per institution
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
- Meet eligibility requirements for an appointment to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai
- Experience in Level III/IV NICU care and procedural competence preferred
