RK&K Engineering PositionRK&K is seeking a self-motivated, capable engineer to lead a variety of natural gas projects that may include design, preparation of construction documents, project coordination, and construction management. This position affords you the opportunity to fully engage in solving complex problems, provide technical evaluation, and evaluate the costs and benefits of alternative solutions. Some travel required.Essential FunctionsDevelop technically accurate, clean, and deliverable drawingsWrite specifications, review submittals, coordinate project submissions, and communicate with clientsResponsible Charge- coordinate the preparation of multi-discipline drawing sets as required for assigned projects, including coordination with technical, administrative, and other design staffPromote, utilize, and support quality assurance and quality control processes to improve the quality of deliverables and reduce design errors & omissionsResearch and understand regulatory compliance AND client requirements for assigned projectsAssist project managers with design calculations, analysis, specification review, and cost estimates for project proposalsParticipate in internal and client meetings, presentations, and plan reviewsWork directly with the owner, designer, project managers, and contractors on projects while expanding your capabilitiesRequired Skills and ExperienceMinimum of 4 years of engineering experience, preferably in the natural gas and pipeline industry (Position within career ladder will take total experience into consideration)Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Civil preferred)Engineer-in-Training license (preferably Maryland, D.C., or VA)Ability to coordinate simultaneous tasksProficiency in communicating technical informationKnowledge of cathodic protection principles and practicesFamiliarity with trenchless construction methods and requirementsEffective verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook)Experience in AutoCAD/MicroStationPreferred Skills and ExperienceProfessional Engineering license (MD, DC, PA, VA preferred)NACE CP1 or higher preferredNatural gas distribution and/or transmission designKnowledge of CFR Part 192 regulatory requirementsKnowledge of conventional construction methods and trenchless technologiesNatural gas facilities design (e.g.

district regulator stations, gate stations, inline inspection facilities)Proficiency in AutoCAD/MicroStation preferredTravel RequirementsOccasional travel as assigned either locally or extended distances; can be one or more nights away from homeOther DutiesThis job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
