Municipal Attorney, Senior Level Associate – ClevelandWe are seeking a highly motivated Municipal Attorney (Senior Associate) to join our growing public law practice in Northeast Ohio. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with municipalities and other public-sector clients on a wide range of complex legal matters impacting local government operations.Position OverviewThe successful candidate will serve as trusted counsel to municipal clients, including city councils and administrative officials, providing practical and strategic legal advice across multiple areas of local government law. This role is well-suited for an experienced attorney who values client interaction, variety of practice areas, and meaningful public-sector work.Minimum QualificationsMinimum of five (5) years of legal experience in a private law firm and/or local government law departmentActive Ohio Bar admission (or ability to obtain promptly)Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skillsDemonstrated ability to manage matters independently while collaborating effectively within a teamDesirable ExperienceExperience advising municipalities or other public entities in one or more of the following areas is strongly preferred:Land use and zoningPublic records and open meetingsPublic contracts and procurementGovernmental and sovereign immunity / liabilityPublic-sector employment and labor mattersLitigation involving or defending governmental entitiesRepresentation of private parties interfacing with local governmentsKey ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day legal counsel to municipal clients, including attendance at council and board meetings as neededDraft and review ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and policiesAdvise clients on compliance with Ohio statutes governing public entitiesRepresent municipalities in administrative proceedings and litigation mattersCollaborate with colleagues across practice areas to deliver comprehensive legal solutionsWhat We OfferA sophisticated and collegial public law practiceMeaningful client relationships and high-impact workCompetitive compensation and comprehensive benefitsOpportunities for professional growth and increased responsibilityThis is an exempt position with salary range of $140,000 - $155,000.
